Hemel Hempstead Beach Party 2014

Hemel Beach Party

We had our Playskill Hemel Hempstead Beach Party on Friday at Woodfield School.

Despite the wet weather we were delighted to let families know that we have received news of funding for 2015 from BBC Children in Need for our AM and PM group of £25,020 towards the costs of running the groups! Sadly Chris Lee from the Challenge 19 team was not able to make it due to ill health but they have just raised over £3000 canoeing down the canals of Scotland and England for Playskill see www.challenge19.co.uk but Penny Jordan  was able to receive thanks on behalf of the team, her husband Andrew will be swimming lake Conniston in September for more fundraising for Playskill.

Sadly too Jackie Tannett and the Ashridge golf team were not able to make the party but they thanked along with all the group volunteers.

Thanks was also given to Nicole Fiddler, volunteer, from the Playskill parent representative for the charity Charlies Gift support in helping families at the group. We had a lot of fun with playing in sand and with a singing session from Rebecca at Sountastic  www.soundstastic.co.uk who led a free taster session for the children which was enjoyed greatly by all.

We all had a lovely lunch together and burnt off some energy in the soft-play area too thanks to Woodfield school!
