High Sheriff of Hertfordshire Award

Playskill is delighted to have been awarded a High Sheriff of Hertfordshire Award recognising our vital work during the pandemic.

High Sheriff of Hertfordshire Awards

At an awards ceremony in March which took place over Zoom, Founder and Director Andrea Clarke was thrilled to receive the High Sheriff of Hertfordshire Award on behalf of the whole Playskill team.

Andrea spoke about how Playskill had reacted quickly to the initial lockdown a year ago and adapted our service to become completely remote, recognising how this crucial developmental window in a child’s life could not be missed. She went on to explain that throughout the year of the pandemic Playskill has quickly adapted and changed our services to ensure the specialist therapies and treatments they give to the children and families they support continued. Andrea highlighted to the  audience that this year we had supported more children than ever despite the most challenging of circumstances.

Playskill was one of six charities shortlisted to receive an award but the High Sheriff felt each were so deserving in their specific client group that all should all get an award.

Andrea Clarke MBE, Founder and Director of Playskill said

“Playskill is thrilled to have our work in lockdown acknowledged at the highest level in Hertfordshire, the team of staff and volunteers have made an outstanding effort to help the children and families we serve in these difficult times. We are deeply grateful for this acknowledgement of this effort by all!”

The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire said

“I am delighted to have had this opportunity to recognise the exceptional work done by so many in Hertfordshire to support those in need in their communities during the pandemic. It is an honour to celebrate and share their successes and thank them for the exceptional difference they make to the lives of others in our county during these extraordinary times.”

One of our families said

“Playskill are our beacon of support, and hope for a brighter future for us all. Their continued support, throughout this pandemic hasn’t gone unnoticed by us, and all the other Playskill families, when many of the other groups and services we use stopped or reduced.”
