Playskill needs your votes to secure vital funding
Watford charity, Playskill, has this week launched an appeal to the public to help them secure vital funding.
Playskill is a local charity running free specialist playgroups for pre-school children with physical disability or developmental delay, with support for parents and the whole family.
Playskill is bidding for a £25,000 community award from the OneFamily Foundation and Watford residents can show their support and try to secure the funding by simply voting online.
Playskill currently runs four groups a week in Watford and Hemel Hempstead helping 32 children with disability each term.
But with a growing waiting list and more referrals, there is an urgent need for an additional group. The award would enable an extra group to be set up and cover running costs for one year.
The new group will enable more children with disability or delay to benefit from vital therapy and support, to help them gain skills for life, and reach their true potential. It will also enable families to access valuable practical and emotional support, to help reduce the stress and isolation they often experience.
Andrea Clarke, Playskill’s Founder and Director said “We now have the longest list of children waiting for a place at Playskill, and we know each child represents a family that is worrying about that child. With the input Playskill can bring each child can achieve tremendous progress, and the family can be equipped with support and the skills to change this young child’s life. We want to start making a difference as soon as possible!”
The public are encouraged to show their support via an online vote, with winning projects being those that secure the most votes.
Voting is open now and closes 20th July 2016. To vote for Playskill go to:
